Deputy Inspector General of Police (IGP) Okoth Ochola has ordered all police officers to stop arresting people over idle and disorderly citing that the offence was declared unconstitutional by the courts of Law.
“This is to inform you that the offence of idle and disorderly was declared unconstitutional by the courts of law. Therefore all police officers are instructed to stop arresting suspects under the cover of this offence,” Ochola stated.
Last week during the state of nation address, President Yoweri Museveni ordered all security operatives to stop arresting people in disguise of idle and disorderly.
