PostBank Uganda has once against contributed towards community development efforts by cultural institutions.
PostBank which is one of the top sponsors of the popular Kabaka birthday marathon in Kampala, has now injected Sh15 million towards the Bunyoro run and coronation celebrations.
The run is organised by Bunyoro Kingdom and it is aimed at raising funds to buy hospital beds for Kagadi hospital maternity ward. The run is part of the activities organised to celebrate the Omukama Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I coronation anniversary.
PostBank MD Stephen Mukweli handed over the tshirts for the run to the Owek Phillip Katahoire, a cabinet minister from Bunyoro kingdom at PostBank head offices in Kampala on Tuesday.
“Kagadi hospital maternity needs a lot of support from government and private citizens and organization as mothers deliver from the floor. The beds are not enough, there is need for more support,” said Ms Jackie Kwesiga, PostBank manager communications.
The run will take place on Friday 9th June starting at Karuzika palace in Hoima.
To buy a kit, runners will part with only Sh10,000 to support the cause. You can buy your kit from PostBank branches on Nkurumah road and Hoima town.
The other sponsors include betway and Spice fm.
