Ambassador Kristian Schmidt, the European Union Head of Delegation to Uganda has branded Red Pepper newspaper #fakenews.
This came after the mighty Red Pepper in its Thursday May 11, 2017 issue, published a lead story titled ‘EU slaps sanctions on Museveni ministers’.
On his twitter, Schmidt woke up very early to distance himself from the report. He however cheekily responded by first praising the publication as “entertaining” before adding “not true” with a hashtag “fakenews”.
“Very entertaining, but none of is true. #fakenews,” Schmidt tweeted. The tweet by the time of this publication had between retweeted 123 times, liked 74 times, and replied to 15 times.
Looking at the activities on Ambassador Schmidt’s twitter @EUAmbSchmidt, this is the most popular tweet in more than a month.
