Ugandan government is going to cancel over 100 land titles which were given to investors to develop the land by setting up industries but up to now they have failed to do so.
State minister of land Persis Namuganza said that the investors were given land to develop through Uganda Investment Authority in order to lure more investors in Uganda.
“Investors who haven’t developed the land which was given to them, their land titles are going to be cancelled immediately,” Namuganza said.
Namuganza added that some people posed as investors but without money to invest in Uganda’s economy.
“We have already cancelled 37 land titles and over 100 land titles are yet to be cancelled,” Namuganza stated.
She further added that investors are given the land to develop it by building industries to provide jobs to Ugandans which they failed to do that’s why they no longer need the land because they can’t develop it.
