For the past two weeks Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of House of Prayer Ministries has been headlining news for his alleged outrageous act of burning Bibles which contained words ‘holy ghost’ claiming they were misleading his followers.
Later, Bugingo came out and denied the allegations saying that he was being defamed by his enemies.
Although he denied the allegations, two ardent born again Christians by names of Matovu Aloysius Kizza and Jemba Francis have come out to issue a notice of intention to sue the Pastor over insult to religion and wounding religious feelings.
Through their lawyers Wameli and Co. Advocates allege that for long Bugingo has been mobilizing his flock and followers to collect bibles which have the word Holy Ghostand Bibles with missing scriptures for burning and destroying.
“On or around 16/04/2017 (Easter Monday), you collected several bibles of different versions and languages and indicated to your flock and /or followers that they were to be burnt or destroyed,” Notice reads.
“Following your mobilization ,utterances and advise, several members of your flock collected and burnt and/or destroyed several biblesand it is believed that this burning and destruction is continuing amongst several members of your flock,”Notice further states.
Thus the plaintiffs have asked Bugingo and his followers to stop their act or face the courts of Law.
“Should you fail herein, we have further and express instructions to commence both civil and criminal(private) proceedings against yourself and some of the members of your flock and or followers at your own inconvenience , embarrassment and costs and without further warning,”
