Police has blocked Former Presidential Candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye, Kampala City Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago and a group of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) members from talking to Makerere University Lecturer Dr. Stella Nyanzi who is being detained at Kira Divisional Police Headquarters in Wakiso.
“At Kira Division police headquarters where Stella Nyanzi is being detained. We’ve been blocked from talking to her notwithstanding the fact that her continued incarceration is illegal, having spent more than 48 hours in custody!” Lukwago stated.
Nyanzi was arrested on Friday night at Mackinnon Suites Hotel in Nakasero over cyber harassment contrary to Section 24 of the Computer Misuse Act of 2011 and Offensive Communication contrary to Section 25 of the same law, according to police.
