Uganda prisons has signed partnership with Uganda Coffee Development Authority (UCDA) at the UCDA headquarters in kampala today to promote coffee production in Uganda.
The partnership was signed by Frank Baine, Uganda Prisons spokesperson and mr Perez Bakumunhe, UCDA board chairman in order to promote a commercialized and profitable coffee subsector.
Baine said that Uganda prisons are ready to provide labor and land to farmers who are ready to engage in coffee production.
“We have partnered with Makerere University and National Agricultural Research Organisation NARO to ensure researched and professional coffee production.” Baine said.
Bakumunhe said that they promise to continue the corporation between UCDA and Uganda prisons in order to promote coffee in Uganda and also improve on the quality.
