Security Minister Henry Tumukunde has apologised for failing Ugandans on security.
“We apologise to Ugandans for these incidents,” Tumukunde said.
While appearing on Fourth Estate show on NTV on Sunday night, Gen Tumukunde challenged his colleagues in the chain of fighting crime to act with urgency in resolving crime.
Tumukunde said, “Challenge is that we act to a certain level. Then others take over. Their level of appreciation of urgency in resolving cases may not be the same as ours.”
Tumukunde observed that there is need to emphasise command and control in fighting crime.
“The criminals who I am told collaborate with police, we shall take them on.”
Gen Tumukunde urges Ugandans to report all threats however small they may be using social media.
