Toroma County MP Cyrus Amodoi died in a fateful taxi accident on a Tuesday night on Jinja Road.
According to Chris Obore, Director, Communications &
Public Affairs at Parliament of Uganda, Amodoi had given his official car to Women leaders of
Katakwi District who used it during the organization of
International Women’s Day celebrations last week thus had
resorted to using taxis as an alternative means of transport.
Today Thursday, Amodoi’s body shall be at his residence from 4pm for a night vigil then on Friday 17 March, 2017 his body will be taken to Christ the King Church at 9am up to 11: 30 am.
At 12pm it will lay in State at Parliament up to 1:30pm and a special sitting will be held on the the same day at 2pm to 5pm in Parliamentary chambers.
Then on Saturday 18 March,2017 the body will be airlifted from Kololo to Toroma County Headquarters for a special Council sitting and memory contribution of the late and in the afternoon the body will be taken to his village home in Kanapa village, Magoro subcounty, Toroma county in Katakwi district.
On Sunday 19 March, 2017, he will be burried.
