The Association of Uganda university sports (AUUS) has finally confirmed 17 Universities to participate in this year’s edition of the Nile Special University Football League.
According to the AUUS vice president Mr. Vincent Kisenyi, the numbers have increased from 12 to 17 which show a good journey.
The President of AUUS Mrs. Peninah Kabenge welcomed the new universities including St. Lawrence University, Kumi ,YMCA, Bugema as well as Bishop Stewart.
The draws are set in four groups where group A shall include Makerere University, Busitema University, KIU as well as UCU.
Group B consists of UMU, Bishop Stewart, MUST as well as Kyambogo University yet group c has Kampala University, Gulu, and YMCA As well As Bugema University.
Nkumba has been drawn for group D with Kumi, St Lawrence, MUBS as well as Kumi University.
The marketing manager of Nile Breweries Mr. Sam Hooper said Nile special was proud to have been part of the activities that bring Ugandans closer.
The sports tutor of KIU Mr Kashaija Joshua vowed to disprove Makerere University which pretends to be a big threat in group A.
The new comer St. Lawrence says he has been waiting for this time and now is the time to disapprove all those claiming to be big.
