Main opposition party Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has refuted claims that Dr. Kizza Besigye and President Yoweri Museveni are set for a dialogue.
According to the news beating around indicates the two have agreed to meet for a dialogue and have further set new terms ahead of the meeting.
However, FDC as a party has stated it doesn’t know about the dialogue and even if it’s set to take place, its position and conditions on talks still remain the same.
“There is a lot of maneuvering and spinning going on regarding talks between FDC & Dr. Kizza Besigye on one hand and Mr. Museveni. Our position & conditions on Talks remains the same,” FDC stated.
According to FDC, if the talks are to take place, they need a neutral mediator, an agreed upon agenda, guarantor of the outcomes of the talks, a neutral venue and most important of all it needs an independent Electoral Audit of the 2016 Presidential Elections.
