Amina Mohammed, during her first press conference, said some deceptive neighbouring countries decamped her and voted for other candiates yesterday in an election won by Chad’s Moussa Faki Mahamat.
Three countries, including Uganda, Burundi and Djibouti didn’t vote for Amina Mohammed.
However, Kenya’s Director of Digital Communication in the office of the President, Dennis Itumbi says Uganda abstained to deny Chad the chance. “Forget the rumours. Uganda stood with Kenya. They only abstained in the final round and that too was in Solidarity with Kenya. You see in the final round Chad was supposed to get 2/3rds by abstaining they were actually denying Chad that goal.”
