Belgian football club, Royal Excel Mouscron has today announced the signing of Ugandan striker Farouk Miya.
Standard Liege confirmed the short loan deal between the two sides has been reached which will see the midfielder spend the rest of the 2016-17 at Royal Excel Mouscron, a fellow Belgium Division A side.
“Standard de Liège, Royal Excel Mouscron and Miya have reached an agreement,” read part of the statement on the standard liege website .
Miya joined Standard Liege in January last year from Vipers on a loan deal that was later made permanent but has struggled for playing time at the club that sits 9th on the log with 33 points at the moment after 24 games.
The team is located in the town of Mouscron, in the western province of Hainaut.
The striker scored Uganda’s lone goal in the 2017 African Cup of Nations in Gabon where it was eliminated at the first stage.
