CNN lauds Farouk Miya’s goal, names it ‘goal of the week’

CNN has named Uganda Cranes Farouk Miya’s goal against Mali in the African Cup of Nations tournament (AFCON) the goal of the week.

Miya scored Cranes’ first and only goal at Afcon 2017 on Wednesday as they drew 1-all with a tough Mali side at Stade d’Oyem.

The Standard Liege youngster combined pace and power to slot past Oumar Sissoko in the 69th minute to dry the tears of many Ugandans back home. Miya was handed the man-of-the-match award for his goal and contribution in helping the Cranes secure something positive from the continental tournament.
