The Uganda Revenue Authority Commissioner General, Doris Akol is today expected to appear before the Parliamentary Committee on Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) chaired by Bugweri County Member of Parliament, Abdul Katuntu in a process of probing the shs6 billion presidential handshake which started yesterday.
Akol is one of the recipients of the shs6bn oil case bonus awarded to 42 government officials.
All the recipients of the oil cash bonuses will be appearing before the selected committee in the communicated time to follow.
The committee also demands to meet president Yoweri Museveni since in one way or the other he is also involved in the scandal.
Recently, the speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga mandated COSASE to handle investigations into the oil cash bonanza.
The oil cash bonanza sparked public outrage where 42 senior government officials were awarded shs6 billion by President Museveni for their role in a capital gains tax dispute, in which the government was awarded a total of $700m.
Many people including politicians came out to criticize the bonanza saying it was too unrealistic for officials who almost did nothing to settle the case since Uganda hired foreign law firms to take on the case.
