This could be the best funded tournament in Mukono Municipality courtesy of area MP Betty Nambooze.
The tournament which attracts talent from the town 18km east of Kampala is becoming very competitive.
The cup tournament was put in place to commemorate Buganda Independence which falls a day before Uganda Independence day. It is played amongst teams in the Municipality of Mukono.
The Sunday kick off at Talents College stadium is between the defending champion Bukerere FC and Nabuti FC, both fast growing suburbs of Mukono Municipality.
According to MP Nambooze, finals are to be held on 8th October.
The legislator has pumped into the tournament at least sh25 million towards uplifting talents in her area.
She says the tournament is to remind the people of Mukono and Uganda of the Buganda independence that falls on 8th October.
The soccer fan herself, Nambooze says participants have a lot to win including a bull, full uniform set and gold medals for the winning team.
The runners up will get a goat to roast by themselves, another full set uniform and silver medals, the 3rd place to win a goat, full set uniform and bronze medals, while the 4th place will win at least a full set uniform.
However, everyone will be a winner as each of the 20 participating teams will get 2 balls and s certificate while the top scorer will win a fully connected phone on K2 and a lot more prizes.
