The trial of 14 suspects accused of masterminding murder of muslim clerics in Uganda is to resume today.
The the case hearing is presided over by three judges of the international crimes division of high court including Justices Ezekiel Muhanguzi,Elizabeth Nahamya and Jane Kigundu.
On 10 October, 2016,a son to the slain muslim sheikh Mustafah Bahiga testified and narrated to court how the assailants attacked and killed his father in a car at Bwebajja mosque along Entebbe road.
The 18 year old student at Mbogo College school in Kawempe division was the sixth prosecution witness in this murder trial and pinned the tabliq sheikh Yunus Kamoga of being behind his father’s death.
Sheikh Kamoga is one the key suspects in this murder trial of sheikh Bahiga and Sheik Ibrahim Hassan Kirya.
Today court is expected to hear evidence from the seventh prosecution witness
On December 28, 2014, Sheikh Mustafa Bahiga was shot
dead at the Bwebajja Mosque on Entebbe road.
Sheikh Bahiga was also shot five times; three bullets in the
left limb, one on the head and another in the stomach as he
was going for Ishae Prayer and on 30 June,2015 Kirya was gunned down by two gunmen riding on a motorcycle at around 11pm when he stopped to buy groceries at a stall below the Kireka flyover on the Northern bypass.
