President Yoweri Museveni has directed that all dilapidated and poorly planned structures in cities, towns and municipalities all over the country should be demolished.

The Directive was revealed by the Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Development Betty Amongi at a Lands and Housing stakeholders meeting in Kampala.

According to the directive by the president, Kampala and the over 20 municipalities countrywide should demolish structures in poor state and take over those that have stayed years without completion.

The directive as at improving the living standards of urban dwellers as the country strives to move to a middle income status by 2020.
