Dr Asuman Lukwago was a troubled man a couple of days ago. In fact, the permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health resigned.
It is not clear if the appointing authority accepted his resignation but after a mutiny among his rank and file at Health ministry and what he called being undermined, Dr Lukwago threw in a towel.

A surprise name to replace him was confirmed today but it was in black and white that Dr Diana Atwine was due to arrive at the Ministry of Health, as permanent Secretary.
Atwine has been Museveni’s doctor with responsibilities to supervise the performance of the Health sector.
It looked like Lukwago’s problems were to soil him and replace him.

However, the president has given him another life in government.

He will be heading the Education Service Commission, which is another powerful commission in the country.

It will be another thing to hear if Lukwago would accept to go to Education or he was actually done with the civil service and was determined to pursue his personal interests.
