President Museveni has appointed five personalities from the legal fraternity as court registrars.

The five are Busingye Byaruhanga Immaculate, Nambayo Esta, Mugabo Vincent Emmy, Sserunkuma Isah, and Odoki Philip.

Odoki is a city lawyer and son of former chief justice Benjamin Odoki while Nambayo Esta  is most remembered for being the magistrate who sent Adam Kalungi to jail for allegedly killing former Butaleja Woman MP Cerinah Nebanda before was sent to the Lands Divisions court as assistant registrar. While Mugabo Vincent Emmy was last year in June appointed Judiciary’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) which job he served alongside other primary duties as Deputy Registrar in charge of the Mediation Registry at the High Court Commercial Division in Kampala.

“In the exercise of the powers vested in the president by Article 145 (2) of the constitution, I hereby appoint the persons listen as below as registrars of the courts of judicature,” say the May 23, 2018 letter to Hon Justice Benjamin Kabito, the chairperson of the Judicial Service Commission.
