Makerere University Academic Staff Association(MUASA) members are today meeting to decide whether or not to hold the strike.
The lecturers laid down tools on Tuesday last week demanding to be paid arrears for their incentives amounting to shs 28 billion which has accumulated since February 2016.
In Friday,the university council held a crisis meeting with the staff members but maintained it’s position as it had no money to offset the arrears,the statement which farther annoyed the lecturers and vowed to continue with the strike.
The chairperson of MUASA,Muhammad Kigundu maintained that they will continue demanding for their money until they are paid.He noted that today’s meeting slated at 2pm will come up with resolutions to present to the council.
