Over 5,000 students of Makerere University Business School (MUBS) may not graduate in the forth coming graduation ceremony on 21st February 2017 at Makerere University over the failure by its management to remit the functional fees amounting to Shs4bn to the main campus.
According to a letter dated 9th January 2017 from Makerere Bursar, Augustine Tamale addressed to MUBS Principle Prof Waswa Balunywa, the business school has failed to remit student’s functional fees for the past three years.
Tamale explains that out of the over 6bn MUBS supposed to pay; only Shs 1.4bn has been cleared.
The Bursar says students from this institution will not graduate if MUBS does not remit the money to Makerere University Council bank account as soon as possible.
