Miss Uganda pageant 2016 which took place on a blissful Saturday night at Serena conference centre clarified that Uganda is indeed a pearl of Africa.
21 sparkling beauty queens lined up on stage all hoping to take the crown home but only one winner was needed amongst them.
Leah Kagasa, a student of Mubs who hails from Fort Portal emerged winner of miss Uganda beating 20 other contestants.
The former Miss Uganda 2015, Zaharah Nakiyaga Muhammad handed over the crown to the new beauty queen.
First runners-up was Simple Kyohairwe and second runners-up was Rita Ricky Mutoni.
Leah was also Miss Popularity and the crowd’s favourite.
From today onwards Kagasa is the most beautiful woman in Uganda, so she’ll be representing the country at Miss World later this year.
She’s also the 26th winner of this crown.
Who is Leah Kagasa?
Leah Kagasa is a daughter to Paul & Florence Mutwamu
Nyakazingo, both teachers at Kyebambe Girls School in Fort Portal. The 21 year old is a mutooro & mucwamba by clan.
She studied at Buhinga Primary school in Fort Portal
Kabarole, Bweranyangi Girls’ School in Bushenyi & Maryhill High school in Mbarara. Leah is a third year student at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) where she offering a bachelors degree in Marketing.
