Their sides are very clear. Kampala central MP Mohammed Nsereko wants legislators to live large irrespective of the sorry state of tax payers that pay for his privileges. He also wants parliament to quickly pass laws that gag the media for reporting on his unbridled greed.
On the other side, Kira municipality MP Ssemujju Nganda, has defended the poor people, taken on legislators who want to look like the oppressor, and sided with the media that tells the emperor of his nakedness.
Now today, Thursday, the two legislators are meeting in one studio. NTV Uganda studios at Kampala Serena Conference Centre.
Patrick Kamara will host the legislators on his On the Spot talkshow. If each MP defends his beliefs, this promises to be one of the hottest political shows this year.
Ssemujju, the opposition chief whip, should work hard to check excesses of power and money hungry politicians, despite himself being one of them. This is one of the ways to prove opposition means business.
Nsereko on the other hand, has come under public scrutiny for leading a group in parliament called 115 which supported him for Deputy Speaker, and turned turned it into a money milking machine.
