Former minister for Ethics and integrity, Miria Matembe has said the new health ministry permanent secretary, Dr. Diana Atwine is singing songs which the people have already heard, she is not saying anything new and she wondered what skills Atwine has that have enabled her to go through the ranks to permanent secretary.

While appearing on NBS television’s popular show dubbed Frontline, Matembe stressed that Atwine’s appointment as a permanent secretary was a form of nepotism. According to her, there are many capable and experienced Ugandans far better than Atwine to befit the her new position.

“Dr Diana Atwine will not perform any miracle unless if she is given all the resources like it was with Minister of Karamoja. Matembe said.

In her defense, Atwine said she has experience of more than 18 years in the field of health so that will enable her to smoothly run the ministry as long as she is given the required tools like human resource.
