Many of you may not be knowing Nagenda Tendo but when you take a walk in Hollywood, in USA, everyone knows him simply because of his big role in Walt Disney film company. For your information, if you didn’t know Nagenda, he is the executive vice president of Walt Disney pictures.
The son of a Ugandan father and Belizean mother, Nagenda was born and mostly raised in Los Angeles California.
He has a university degree in economics and government.
Nagenda’s career in production spans more than a decade. He became Walt Disney’s executive vice president of production in 2010.
Here comes the most interesting part, Nagenda is the mastermind behind ‘Queen of Katwe’ the first ever Disneys non-documented movie from Africa.
During the premiere of Queen of Katwe at Acacia mall Kampala, Nagenda was in the country.
He said being a Ugandan, his interest is to see all Ugandan movies shot in Uganda but its cheaper by 20% when some parts of a Uganda film are shot in South Africa.
“Because of this film (Queen of Katwe) many filming houses across the world are asking us about Uganda and the potential of doing films here but the issue of cost is hindering those opportunities,” Nagenda said.
Nagenda Tendo is the highest ranked African and 3rd highest ranked employee in Hollywood walt Disney.
This youthful gentleman is worth a fortune, definitely he is the most powerful African in Hollywood.
