Makerere University management has dismissed allegations of financial mismanagement that have been circulated in the media.

The vice chancellor for finance and administration, Prof Barnabas Nawangwe says the university like other public institutions is audited annually by the auditor general and the reports are submitted to parliament, then open to public scrutiny.

He also says funding collected from research and other deviations are for specific purposes and cannot br diverted, adding that the biggest problem the university is facing is accumulative incentive arrears for lecturers.
