Health officers have asked local leaders to revamp campaigns against HIV/AIDS among communities.
Project manager for International Medical Foundation, Ruth Segawa says leaders have become reluctant in creating awareness on the dangers of HIV/AIDS which has contributed to the increased spread of the virus.
She says local leaders especially those in slummy areas must highly carry out sensitization campaigns because those areas are at high risk of the disease prevalence.
“I just want to alert the community that HIV is on increase, if you teat 400 people you find 20 with the disease. It sends signal that the prevalence rates are high,” Segawa said.
