Mukono Municipality legislator Betty Nambooze has developed heart complications, says her lawyer Merdard Seggona.
Nambooze who was due to travel to India last week for further medical management following her surgery on the spinal cord, spent the entire Idd weekend in jail after police cancelled the bond given to her in Naggalama on Wednesday.

The Mukono legislator was arrested following the post on her popular social media page which mourned the assassinated MP Ibrahim Abiriga, but, condemned the ideals he stood for.
Police picked her from her home at Kavule in Mukono town, on Wednesday saying she a case to answer with regard to comments about Abiriga’s assassination. She was driven to Jinja road police station, before spending a day at Naggalana from where she was given a police bond on medical considerations.

The next day, her bond was cancelled and she spent a day at Kireka SIU, before she was sent to spend the weekend in Naggalama from where her health deteriorated, forcing police to get an ambulance and rushed her to Kiruddu hospital for further management.
Her lawyers including Erias Lukwago and Samuel Muyizzi say, they are going to involve Parliament and human rights bodies in order the rights of the legislator are respected.
