Eng. Badru Kiggundu has defended his appointment to the karuma dam power project.

Recently president Yoweri Museveni appointed the outgoing Electoral commission boss to chair a project steering committee to oversee the completion of Karuma and Isimba hydro power projects.

Responding to the concerns regarding his appointment, Kiggundu says it is not a reward or a mere favour because he is qualified for the job..He applauded Museveni for choosing him for the task, expressing confidence that he will deliver.
“My appointment to Karuma is not a favour or gratitude but i have professional qualifications, I am a professor of civil engineering some of you may know me only for commission,” Kiggundu said.
“By virtue of age, i have a required training to fit in the dock so i am grateful that out of the many Ugandans, i was identified to lead the committee,” He added.
Kiggundu is the outgoing chairman of the electoral commission and he is leaving the office officially tomorrow after 14 years of holding the helm of the commission.
