The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen. Kale Kayihura lashed at patrol police officers who are using police patrol motorcycles for boda boda services and other personal uses.
While attending the police marathon held at Jinja Secondary school in Jinja yesterday, Kayihura warned the police officers who have made it a habit to use police patrol motorcycles for their own use that the law will work on then. He tasked the Jinja Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Erick Ssakwa to make a follow up on police officers who misuse police property
“The police motorcycles are not for the staff to move from their homes to the office, they are for patrolling so I want visibility in motorcycle patrolling. “ Said Kayihura.
“Go in Kampala there over 500 motorcycles but you hardly see them, some officers use them for boda bodas and personal transport.”He added.
