Juba airport has been closed, sources tell watchdog, even as the calm has returned to the South Sudan capital.

Over 300 people have so far died in the fight that erupted on the eve of South Sudan 5th independence anniversary.

The 54th nation in Africa led by General Salva Kiir has not known peace since December 23 when his former deputy Riek Machar led part of the SPLA to fight the government.

Uganda saved the country from total collapse only for the international community to demand that UPDF vacates its positions in South Sudan.

Now Ugandan forces say they are not willing to return to South Sudan. However, Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni has asked the two leaders to cease fire and don’t give up on the fight for peace to return to their country.
