President Museveni has warned the Makerere university striking lecturers against holding government at ransom over unpaid salaries and incentives.
While addressing a press conference at Kawumu state lodge in Luwero district last evening,Museveni said he will not tolerate undisciplined lecturer who stage strikes because the government has  not paid their salaries.
“We want to have professors paid Shs15 million but right
now we have other program we are working on like roads
and NAADS. If you have people who have an attitude of
strike like these lecturers, it is not a good way,” Museveni asserted.
Last week Makerere University  lecturers decided to lay down their tools due to non payment of their incentives amounting to shs 28 billion which led to students to strike thus the  ordering of the closure of the university by the president on Tuesday this week.
