Leading global Information and communication Technology (ICT) solutions provider, Huawei has contributed a wholesome of shs 250 million towards the 2016 MTN marathon’s cause to support the schools’ sustainable sanitation in Kampala.
While addressing journalists at Huawei Uganda head offices at Rwenzori Towers today,the Managing Director of Huawei Uganda, Stanley Chyn said,they will continue to support efforts to improve access to sustainable sanitation for the urban poor school children in Kampala.
“This is our fifth time to give to this cause and we shall continue to support efforts to improve access to sustainable sanitation for the urban poor school children in Kampala.We are therefore contributing shs 250 million to this year’s marathon.” Said Chyn.
On theother hand,the MTN Uganda Chief Executive Officer, Wim Vanhellaputte thanked Huawei for the great contribution towards this year’s MTN Kampala marathon.
“It’s really impressive to see Huawei contributing to these good causes that KCCA is putting in place because as you know all the procedures of MTN marathon,for several years have been going through projects put in place by KCCA.” Vanhelleputte asserted.
The 2016 MTN marathon is set to take place on Sunday 20 th November, with the aim of raising funds towarda the construction of bio toilets with water, harvesting facilities and environmental friendly bio gas technology.The bio toilets will reduce the cost of energy used in preparing meals for school children in Kampala.
More than 150 Huawei staff have confirmed participation in the MTN Kampala Marathon.
