Perfect Events bosses also organizers of Fish Festival Betty Aliba and Bakora Moses together with the Executive Director of Uganda Fisheries and Fish Conservation (UFFCA) Seremos Kamuturaki have awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to GIZ-Responsible Fisheries Business Chain Project (RFBCP) for their support towards the success of the City Fish Festival that was held on 5 May, 2018 at Uganda Museum.
The certificate was received by GIZ team leader Adolf Gerstil who pledged continued support towards the initiative.
Through close cooperation with UFFCA and Federation of Fisheries Organization of Uganda (FFOU) , GIZ facilitated fisher folks who exhibited at the fest as well as helping the organizers to get enough exhibitors of various fish species.
Over Over 35 species were exhibited and they included Nile perch, Nile Tilapia, African lung fish, Moon fish, Butterfly Fish, Tiger Fish, Squeaker, Cat fish, Silver Fish, mud fish, Electric fish, among others, most of which were from L. Albert and L. Victoria.
At the same event best fishing practices which included use of boats and proper fishing nets and other fishing equipment were also exhibited and awarded.
More than 10 restaurants both local and international that included, Go Fish, Shark Hotel, AEL Restaurant, Ibamba Restaurant, Indiana Restaurant, Entebbe Rollers Fish Restaurant among others showcased a variety of ready to eat fish recipes/ menus that left fish lovers lost for choice.
