Social activist Frank Gashumba is being quizzed by police for claiming Kizza Besigye won the February 2016 elections.

Gashumba held at Kibuli CID headquarters, spoke to Watchdog briefly, and confirmed his arrest.

Police are likely to charge or caution him for sedition.

President Museveni on February 20 was declared winner of the 2016 presidential election, in an election that left a sour taste in the mouth of many observers.

Since then, Besigye has claimed victory and he ended up in jail on treason charges.
