Sudan president still with the international criminal court arrest warrant hanging around his head, has arrived in Kigali Rwanda for the 27th African Union summit.
The meeting that will discuss among others South Sudan crisis, needs the wisdom and experience of Bashir. The AU might also discuss an African position on exiting the ICC which they call a tool of neo colonialism.
Rwanda government prior said Bashir was invited for the meeting and was free to attend.
Bashir visit to Uganda in May caused international uproar with the US embassy officials storming out of the inauguration celebrations in protest. Recently, the ICC protested Uganda’s failure to arrest Bashir on its soil when it’s a signatory.
Rwanda joins the list of countries that have defied the ICC over Bashir arrest.
