Cyprian Kizito Lwanga is the current archbishop of the Achidiocese of Kampala.

Here are the some of the things you didn’t about this man of God;

1.Kizito Lwanga was born 19 January 1953 at Kyabakadde, Mukono District in the Central Region of Uganda.

2. He was ordained a priest on 8 April 1978 at Rubaga Cathedral by Emmanuel Nsubuga.

3. He was appointed first bishop of the Diocese of Kasana-Luweero on 16 November 1996 and ordained bishop on 1 March 1997 at Kasana-Luweero.

4. He was appointed the third Archbishop of Kampala on 19 August 2006 and installed as the third Archbishop of Kampala on 30 September 2006 at Rubaga Cathedral, succeeding Emmanuel Wamala.

5.Lwanga has been a key factor in suspending the ‘gone astray’ Roman Catholic priests whom he says they preach above the laws governing the church whereas some carried out obscene practices which put the church to shame. The suspended priests later became rebel priests notably; the Late JB Mukajanga, Fr. Anthony Musala, Fr. Jacinto Kibuuka among others.
