Opposition’s Forum for Democratic Change party has given kudos to Speaker Rebecca Kadaga and Parliament for resisting pressure and stood their ground over the infamous Sh6 billion presidential handshake saga.
The intervention of Parliament and suspending business in the house by Speaker Kadaga led to the lawyers who petitioned Justice Stephen Kavuma to stop any debate, investigations or questioning into the matter, to withdraw their petition.
42 government officials who took part in the Heritage Oil tax gains dispute in London shared among themselves Sh6 billion in appreciations for their “work” in the negotiations. Among beneficiaries are highest paid public servants including URA bos Doris Akol, KCCA executive director Jennifer Musisi, UNRA boss Allen Kagina, Secretary to the Treasury Keith Muhakanizi, among others.
FDC national Chairperson Mr Wasswa Biriggwa lauded the Speaker’s action as defiance which has caused benefits. He was addressing the media at Kizza Besigye’s office along Katonga road in Kampala.
