Yesterday  primary seven candidates sat for their Mathematics and Social Studies  papers in the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) and today  they are finalizing their papers with English and science.
However, the Executive secretary for Uganda National Examination Board,Daniel Odong has said that cases of malpractice were reported in the districts of Wakiso and Luwero where escorts reported receiving question paper envelopes which had been tampered with, the schools identified as Kitebi Primary school in Wakiso and St Augustine primary school Zirobwe in Luwero.
There were also delays in the delivery of exams with most district officials attributing this to lack of funding and mechanical problems of the vehicles as well as traffic jam in some places.
Over 640,000 pupils have sat for this year’s PLE in 12,391 centres,311,511 of the candidates are male while 329,340 are female.
