The European Ambassador to Uganda, Kristian Schmidt has challenged youths to be passionate about their dreams and work hard.
Speaking at the fourth annual national youth skills development expo at the Uganda Museum in Kampala last evening, Schmidt said youths need to become entrepreneurs in order to drive the country’s economy besides lack of start up funds, inexperience among other challenges affecting youth efforts to become successful entrepreneurs across the world.
The ambassador asked the government take family planning very serious to control the growing population, reform school curriculum and prioritize vocational training.
“This Uganda education system you’re going through, is it serving the interest of the youths? Is it delivering the relevant quality of education that you need to succeed? Is the curriculum preparing young people like you for the very limited opportunities available?
“We need a system that can make youths come out as entrepreneurs,” said Schmidt.
