Meddia personality and YouTube content developer Ibrah K Mukasa has explained why he left Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC’s) sister channel Star TV.
Before securing a job on Spark TV, Mukasa used to host a show dubbed Wolokoso xtra on Star TV, but this show was suspended and Mukasa was allegedly fired from the station for constantly throwing insults and biased comments to several celebrities.
During an interview on Full Woman magazine a few days ago, Mukasa admitted that his on-air misconduct got him in trouble but he was never fired, rather he chose to move on after securing a gig on Spark TV.
“The UBC board and the Ministry of ICT decided to suspend my show after the Jazmine incident, many people thought I was fired but I was not. But when the suspension period was done, I reported back to work and around the same time, I got a job at Spark TV,” he said.
Mukasa’s show was suspended after singer Lydia Jazmine requesting Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) and UBC management to take serious action on him, after he accused her of carrying out multiple abortions, prostitutions among other things while on air.
“Some people are having sex in a stupid way. I cannot imagine Fik Fameica being in love with Jazmine. She is so stupid, she cannot even express herself in English for five minutes. If the couple is to have children, then their kids would be so stupid like their parents,” Mukasa said on that fateful show.
However, days later he came out and offered a public apology to Jazmine and the issue was resolved.
