Edwin Katamba aka MC Kats has confirmed that he successfully managed to escape from the rehabilitation center where he was checked into a few days back.
The NBS TV After5 show co-host said that he escaped because he was treated as a prisoner, alleging that on top of feeding him with Posho, rice and beans, they restricted him from seeing his baby mama, Fille Mutoni and his children, confiscated his ARVS that he got from London, among other things.
In a recorded video, Kats explained that during his time in rehab, he realised that there is a group of people behind his ‘arrest’, with a motive of stealing from United Nations.
“You are doing everything because you know UN is going to give you money, but I swear you are not going to force me to do anything I don’t like. I am not going to do anything for the sack of UN. Yes I escaped, I jumped over the fence and ran, it wasn’t easy because got a lot of injuries,” Kats said.
He claimed that he has been sick for nine years but no one came in to help, now why do they pretend to care a lot about him in particular after this UN deal!
“I’ve been with HIV for nine years, why didn’t you come then to help me? I know this UN thing might be useful to the country but you don’t have to force me to work on your pace, I will do anything when I choose to. You want to steal people’s money from UN and want to put me in your drama.”
Kats said that currently, the only safe place for him is besides Pastor Wilson Bugembe that’s why when he escaped, he ran straight to his church because he knows when ‘mafias’ get him, they might say he is mad and throw him back into rehab.
He said that he only trusts Bugembe because his closest friends and co-workers, Douglas Lwanga and DVJ Mercy Pro betrayed him and they are among the people who sold him out to these ‘mafias’.
