Singer Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleone will not let Maddox Sematimba in peace after disrespecting him on a national television.
During an interview on NTV Mwasuze Mutya show this week, Maddox claimed that Chameleone will not be performing on his forthcoming ‘The Legend Live in Concert’ that is slated October 4 at Kampala Sheraton Gardens, because he is a ‘fake’ music legend.
Now, the Leone Island boss has vowed to attend Maddox’s concert, with or without an invitation.
In interview with a local media channel, Chameleone said that he is Maddox’s number one fan, and he does not care about the statements he made about him.
“I am Maddox’s number one fan and I will attend his concert. I don’t mind if he calls me a legend or not. I fought for Ugandan Music before him. If they asked him the same question at a different time, he might have said something different,” Chameleone noted.
However, Andrew Benon Kibuuka recently advised both artistes (Maddox and Chameleone) to desist from calling themselves music legends because they have not yet done enough to earn the title.
He noted that both artistes are not even a single step to fit in the leagues of music legends like Philly Bongole Lutaaya, Elly Wamala, and Moses Matovu among others.
“A person who has faded and outlived his prime years cannot be termed as a legend. It’s for people who have seen and done it all but are still role models for several people. Both Maddox and Chameleone are not yet legends, they are still very young and active to call themselves legends. I don’t think they have surpassed the test of time,” he said.
