The reigning Miss Uganda 2019-2020 Oliver Nakakande has promised to work hard and build on Quiin Abenakyo’s legacy, who managed to win the first ever Miss World Africa title in Uganda.
Excited about her crown, Nakakande took it out on her social media platform on Tuesday, and claimed that she is all geared up to take on the Miss Uganda responsibilities.
“God is the Greatest! I am so overwhelmed with joy and I cannot thank you enough my beautiful people, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you. My Miss Uganda journey has officially started and am super excited to build on the Abenakyo Quiin legacy. It’s such a great honor to be Miss Uganda 2019-2020 and am excited to take on all the upcoming responsibilities,” she said.
Out of the 22 Miss Uganda finalists, Nakakande impressed more, and took on the crown after Abenakyo, in a glamour event that took place on July 25 at Kampala Sheraton Hotel. Elizabeth Bagaya emerged as the first runner up while Mariam Nyamate took the second runner up title.
Nakakande will be representing Uganda, in the 69th edition of Miss World competition that will be happening on December 14, at the ExCel London, United Kingdom.
