Toniks is worried about the recent stage performances by some of his female colleagues.
Through his social media platforms, the ‘Romance’ singer, born Allan Ampeire alleged that most female artistes these days are only good at taking off their clothes to show their bodies while on stage, instead of giving people a good music performance.
“Is it me or most female artiste’s performances these days are more of soft core strip teases than musical entertainment?” Toniks asked.
This concern came after the Ethics and Integrity Minister, Fr Simon Lukodo recently questioned female artistes over their indecent dress code on stage and in their music videos.
And last year, the Anti-Pornographic Committee issued a direct warning to Team No Sleep’s Sheebah Karungi and other female artistes over making performances when they are almost naked.
“I saw a picture of Sheebah and she was naked. She was only wearing a net with a swimming costume but even the costume was transparent. Those are some of the people we are going after,” Annette Kezaabu, the committee chairperson said.
But apparently it’s not only Lukodo or Kezaabu’s concern; surprising even male artistes are worried on how female entertainers turned music performances into striping.
