Culture World in conjunction with the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities are set to hold a debut edition of ‘My Culture My Identity’ gala that is meant to inspire people’s views on culture.
This gala will be happening at the Uganda Museum on June 22.
While speaking in a presser on Tuesday, Lavinia Tuhimbise, the CEO of Culture World claimed that there will be a lineup of top fashion designers in Uganda, showcasing different traditional and African wear.
She alleged that the reason as to why they are celebrating culture, is to mainly enrich the young people about the knowledge of their culture and identity, and that their panel of guests will include cultural leaders, dignitaries and cultural experts who are very informed about cultural norms that need to be passed on to the youths.
“This is the kind of event everyone must attend, it will be all about celebration the cultural diversity of Uganda in a fun and educative environment” Tuhimbise stated.
According to organizers, this event will bring together the different Ugandan cultures for fun, and also to inspire people’s views on culture as an asset they can turn to for wealth, health and happiness.
This event will also feature fun activities like exhibitions, Fashion showcase, Bazaar, Poetry, Comedy, Mini tournaments, mweeso, Duulu, Kwepena, among others and winners will walk away with big prizes.
Show tickets will go for Shs20,000 ordinary, Shs50,000 VIP and Shs1 million for a table of 10. Proceeds from this show will go for charity at Kareke Kasome Foundation in Mpigi.
