Jamaican reggae heavy weights Buju Banton, Morgan Heritage and Beenie Man have been confirmed for a world Reggae tour in Kampala.
This tour, dubbed ‘The Long Walk to Freedom’, will be staged in Kampala on September 4 at Lugogo Cricket Oval.
According to the promoter, these visiting reggae acts will be sharing the stage with Uganda’s Jose Chameleone and Bebe Cool.
After serving a seven- year jail sentence, Buju returned on stage in a mega concert in Kingston, Jamaica National Stadium. And being a reggae sweet heart, he has embarked on doing the reggae tour for his fans across the world.
An inspiration to many an artiste such as Bebe Cool, Chameleone and Bobi Wine, Grammy-winning reggae act will be performing in Uganda for the very first time.
Last Friday, the veteran artiste outted his first track since he regained freedom titled ‘Country For Sale’ and is already looking forward to the release of an album within the next three months.
As for Morgan Heritage, the band was in the country in April 2017 courtesy of Bell Lager.
Beenie Man has on the other hand been a household name in Uganda and artistes such as Radio and Weasel, Beenie Gunter among others have managed to secure collabos with him. Also his songs like Gal dem Sugar, Better than them, Dance Hall Queen have greatly been appreciated in Uganda.
