Ghetto President Bobi Wine is all geared up for the Easter Monday music fest at his One Love Beach, Busaabala, even without the police clearance.
During a presser on Tuesday, the Kyadondo East Legislator said that they wrote to the police about a month back informing them about this show, but police is still standing in the way of his music career.
“This show has been happening every Easter Monday for over 10 years back. We wrote to Police about a month back but they have not yet responded till now. However, this will not stop us, as we are planning to continue with our show preparations because we are not doing anything wrong,” Bobi Wine stated.
After the Easter Monday fest, they will have other shows in Arua, Gulu and Lira but these too have not yet got a clearance from the police.
According to Bobi Wine, he has done what is required of him by law, and he is not planning to back down from performing at music shows just because the police have refused to clear him.
Abby Musinguzi alias Abtex promotions, the official promoter of the Busaabala East Monday Fest said that police has no excuse to cancel this show like they did last time, for they have carried out the necessary procedures while organizing.
“Last time police said that Bobi Wine’s promoters failed to fulfill police requirements, but I together with my colleague Bajjo Events have been in this business for over years now, and we have taken all the necessary procedures as required by the police, so we don’t expect excuses,” said Abtex.
In 2018, police stopped Bobi Wine’s Boxing Day Busaabala Fest from happening, claiming that the event wasn’t cleared because promoters failed to fulfill the necessary police requirement.
