A woman has opened a case of child neglect against singer Ronald Mayinja.
Jemimah Namatovu, a singer with Da Nu Eagles claims Mayinja got her pregnant in 2006 but became aloof, saying he was not responsible for the pregnancy. However, when the baby was born, he resembled Mayinja that no DNA was needed.
Now sources have told Watchdog that Namatovu has single handled raised the child, paying school fees til the daughter completed Primary Seven. Namatovu now says she does not have money to take her to secondary and that all she wants from Mayinja is to pay school fees for his offspring.
Mayinja, who is currently gearing up for Parliament in 2021, is said to have ‘learnt about this police case but has not yet responded,’ according to our sources.
Mayinja and Namatovu met as artistes in Eagles Production in 2005, but since Mayinja was married to Aisha Nakyeyune, the two singers always kept their intimate relationship a secret till the baby came in picture.
This is not the first scandal between Mayinja and Namatovu. In 2014 when Mayinja called all women who claim to have his children for DNA test, Namatovu’s child was bounced.
